Summer 2015

Summer was awesome this year. Almost forgot about the stress that last year and the beginning of this year brought. After all the many trials things finally started to calm down and normalcy had returned.

After a very grueling tax season, and the lengthy packing for mom’s house of which I had to do alone… I was fortunate enough to have to deal with two closings on the same day. One for the sale of mom’s house in Brooklyn and another for her house in Georgia. One closing was dependent on the other. Needless to say between the builders, buyers, banks, attorneys, moving people, and real estate agents all involved I almost got an ulcer. I almost cracked under the pressure but God had a plan that I was unaware of. It all worked out. Crisis averted. The house sold, we closed on time, I didn’t lose my deposit for the new house.

A long time friend and I reconnected. She came to Georgia to visit family and we hung out. The first time we hung out in years. There was a conflict and I assume it was resolved but I guess both of us felt kind of slighted after so neither of us kept in touch. I’m glad we reconnected. We had a great time catching up and we even started to reach out to each other afterward.

The wife and took some much needed us time, whether it was going out to eat or staying in and having a quiet dinner.

We got our deck built. It is beautiful (or was). A guy named Jeff built it in two and a half days. He did awesome work. I got the idea from Pinterest and then I added a little flare to it by putting some outdoor curtains. All the neighbors seem to love it and I even got Jeff some good business. The wife had a meet-n-greet for the neighbors and everyone loved the deck.

My cousin got married in Barbados. So since we hadn’t gone on a vacation alone since the girls, we made a vacation of it. Barbados is beautiful. So beautiful that… That’s another post. We snorkeled, we jet skied, we ate flying fish, and drank beer for 7 days. In between somewhere we saw family and friends and did some sight seeing. We were so tired when we came back. The sun rises there at 5am and sets at 6pm. We found ourselves waking up at dawn and tired around 7-8pm. That’s a huge difference from the United States when the sun goes down at 9pm and we’re not in bed until about 11pm. It was so much fun though.

Cianna started school. She’s learning so much and she’s so excited about school. She loves learning new things and all of her new friends. I would have thought the novelty of going to school would have faded by now but she loves it still.

Bought myself a little hobby car. I’ve always wanted a drop top coupe. I wanted a Honda Del Sol back in the day but since the S2000 came out I’ve always wanted one. Now I have one. I love it so much. As a matter of fact, I’m going to go for a drive right now. 🙂
